2015 Pool Sessions
The warm sunny dry weather is behind us while the cold dark and wet weather looms ahead. Fret not, local paddling clubs and organizations have rented time at local indoor pools with warm water and bright lights. These pools are located all over the Puget Sound area from Tacoma to Shoreline.
Here is a list of clubs hosting pool times that I know about:
Washington Kayak Club
Pool times on various days and times in Tacoma, Tukwila, Shoreline and Evergreen. They charge $10 per member or $15 for non members per session.
The Mountaineers
Different Branches of the Mountaineer’s have pool times at various pools in the south sound area. Check The Mountaineers Website for Dates & Locations
- Tacoma's Eastside Pool: Every other Sunday from 2-4pm from now until March 22nd 2015 (cost is $10 for members and $15 for non members)
- Peninsula High School Pool: Every other Tuesday Night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm until March 17th 2015 (cost is $10 for members and $15 for non members)
- Lacey's River Ridge High School Pool: Jan 25th, Feb 8th, Mar 8th, & Apr 12th from 4-6:30pm (cost is only $5 for members and $10 for non members)
University Puget Sound Kayak Club
A chance for students and community members to kayak in Wallace Pool with help and instruction from experienced whitewater kayakers. Gear is provided by the club. Remember that everyday is a beginner day! Every Monday and Thursday 8-10 p.m.

Bellingham
Arne Hana Aquatic Center holds several public kayak pools sessions for a nominal fee. $4 for Bellingham residents and $5 for non-residents.
- Tuesdays and Thursday from 8pm-9pm
- Sundays from 1pm-2pm
W.A.K.E. (Whatcoma County Area Kayak Enthusiasts) holds pool sessions for members only at the Arne Hana Aquatic Center. Please visit their site for membership questions and pool times.
