This information is designed to provide basic information to help you in choosing appropriate paddle trips for your level of experience. The information may be old and outdated and I would encourage you to use several resources when a trip in unfamiliar areas. As always you are responsible for the safe operation and navigation of your own vessel. Happy Paddling!

  • McMicken Island State Park is a small quant little island suitable for a pit stop. The island is day use only so you cannot camp here. You have many options to choose from for routes.

You can start at the Herron island Ferry Landing, paddle to Joemma Beach State Park, then cross over to Harstine Island and paddle up to McMicken Island for a lunch stop before heading back to the ferry landing or you could do this trip in reverse.

You could launch from Joemma Beach State Park, paddle over to Harstine Island up to McMicken for a break and short hike, then continue on to Jarrells Cove for the night. In the morning you would cross over to The Herron Island Ferry Landing then finish at Joemma Beach State Park.
